Born and raised in Bethlehem, Palestine, Rev. Dr. Mitri Raheb serves as the President of Bright Stars of Bethlehem. In February of 2012, he was awarded the prestigious German Media Prize award. He is an internationally-acclaimed author and speaker. Rev. Raheb has been featured on many major international media outlets and networks including CNN, ABC, BBC, ARD, ZDF, DW, BR, Premiere, Raiuno, Stern, The Economist, and Newsweek. He was a key subject of an April 2012 CBS News “60 Minutes” segment on Palestinian Christians.

Rev. Raheb has served as Pastor of Christmas Lutheran Church in Bethlehem since 1988 and is also President of Diyar, a consortium of Lutheran institutions that he founded in 1995. Diyar serves the entire Palestinian community through culture, health, education and heritage programs. He also serves as President of Dar al-Kalima College.

Described as “the most widely published Palestinian theologian,” Rev. Raheb has authored 17 books. He is skilled in more than seven languages and participates in theological dialogue, peacebuilding and dream making throughout the world.

Rev. Raheb lives in Bethlehem with his wife, Najwa Khoury. They have two adult daughters, Dana and Tala.
